Living While You’re Alive

In our fast-paced and often hectic lives, it's easy to get caught up in the routine and forget to truly live. We often delay pursuing our passions and dreams, believing that someday we'll have more time or the perfect circumstances to pursue them. But the truth is, life is short, and the only time we have is the present moment. The concept of "living while you're alive" means living with no regrets, embracing your passions, chasing your dreams, and savoring precious moments. Below are 6 things you can do to hold yourself accountable for living your life to the fullest:

1. Write a list of things you’ve always wanted to do, experience or learn:

Life is too short to postpone your dreams. Embracing your passions is an essential part of living a fulfilling life! Writing a list of things you’ve always wanted to do, experience or learn is the first step in holding yourself accountable. After writing everything down, make a plan of action to cross everything off the list in a timely, yet reasonable manner.

2. Embrace the present:

It’s important to be fully present in the moment. Many people spend their days dwelling on the past or worrying about the future and miss out on the beauty and opportunities that surround them. Practicing mindfulness and appreciating the small joys in life can create lasting memories you’ll treasure forever.

3. Overcome fear and take risks:

Fear often holds us back from pursuing our dreams. It’s important that we step out of our comfort zones in order to grow and fulfill life beyond fear's grip! For instance, I’ve always wanted to skydive, but I always wanted to go with someone I trusted to make me feel more at ease.

I ultimately decided to go skydiving while I was in Mexico celebrating my birthday. Because I still had this unshakable itch to go skydiving (despite not having anyone to go with me), I knew it was then or never! As I got in the plane and we flew higher and higher, an overwhelming sense of peace came over me. What I didn't notice at the time was that I was facing a fear of doing things alone. As we jumped off the plane’s edge, I felt so free and so empowered! I realized I was waiting for other people to give me the go on things I wanted to do. That realization changed my life because I now know I am more than capable of doing, seeing, and experiencing anything I want, regardless of whether someone will do it with me or not.

4. Prioritize and make time:

In our busy lives, it's essential to make time for the things we love. It's not about finding time; it's about making time for what truly matters to us!

5. Surround yourself with inspiration:

The company we keep significantly impacts our mindset and motivation. It’s important to actively surround ourselves with like-minded people who positively inspire and support our dreams!

6. Start small, start now:

Try not to get overwhelmed by the magnitude of your dreams and aspirations. Every journey begins with a single step. Break down your goals into smaller, achievable tasks and take that first step. Even the smallest progressions can lead to significant progress over time.
