1.29.2024

By: Shariah James

This list was curated by someone who has failed many times and learned through trial and error. But if there is something I would tell my younger self it is that you may not always see your worth, but you are worthy of making great decisions and you are worthy of great things happening to you. I hope this list of things I would tell my younger self resonates with you and inspires you to make the most of every moment.

1. You attract what's best for you by becoming an attractive person from the inside out.

2. What you do today will affect you 10 years from now. Your habits and actions will always have long term consequences, even if you don’t immediately see them.

3. There are no shortcuts to success.

4. Small steps over time create great distances. Start now and don’t be afraid to start small.

5. Comparison can make you feel either inferior or superior but neither honors God.

6. You will win with discipline.

7. There is value in being exclusive.

 8. Treat people with kindness always.

 9. Learn the difference between someone being interested vs. someone being committed.

 10. Less is more.

 11. Maximize every opportunity, even if it doesn’t look like one.

 12. Your relationship with God affects every other relationship you will have.

 13. Get a mentor.

 14. Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

 15. Develop the ability to read the room.

 16. Do not wait for life to happen, you have to create the life you want to live now.

 17. Be patient with yourself, you are building a person.

 18. Some things in life are difficult and that’s okay. It gets better.

 19. Control what you can control.

 20. Keep the main thing, the main thing.

Rooting for you always!
