Singapore Changi Airport has something for both locals and tourists to enjoy! It’s a top rated airport that has also been voted “Best Airport in Asia” 12 times and has many things to enjoy and explore while you wait for your connecting flight. If you have some flexibility in your itinerary to incorporate a long layover in Singapore, we’d highly recommend it! While going to Bali from the United States, we decided to knock out two countries in one trip. Our layover was 12 hours, which was the perfect amount of time for us to take a “Singapore City Sights Tour” as well as explore the fun activities and attractions inside the Singapore Airport. There is SO much to do inside the airport, so we’ve compiled a list of 15 of our favorite affordable things we did while there (listed in the order we explored for time and efficiency):

1.) Free Singapore Tour (meeting point in terminal 2)

If your layover is more than 5.5 hours and within 24 hours you’ll be eligible for the free Singapore tours! They offer a “City Sights Tour, a “Heritage Tour” and a “Changi Precinct Tour.” Each tour is 2.5 hours long and tours are conducted in English only.

2.) Sunflower Garden (located in terminal 2)

This garden features several varieties of sunflowers grown in Changi Airport's very own nursery. The sunny garden provides travelers with a healthy dose of Vitamin D by day and a mesmerizing scene at night. - Views of the runway and aircraft parking bays can be seen from this garden well.

3.) Enchanted Garden (located in terminal 2)

This garden comprises four giant glass bouquet sculptures decorated with a mosaic of reflective and shimmering stained glass. Nestled within the glass bouquets are a variety of freshly-cut flowers and soft ferns.

4.) Visit the Rain Vortex (located in terminal 1)
