10 Scriptures About Patience & God's Timing

We all experience seasons of waiting, which can feel long and trying. It may feel so unbearable that it starts to take a toll on our patience, mental health, and even our faith in God’s purpose for our life. I’m currently in a season of waiting and even I can admit that it can get tough at times, especially when days, weeks, and months go by, and I still haven’t experienced much progression. BUT, God is an on time God, and He is working even when we don't see it. Below are 10 Bible verses about patience and God's timing to remind us that God is always with us - even in our season of waiting:

1. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

- Jeremiah 29:11

2. "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

- Isaiah 40:31

3. "Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"

- Psalm 27:14

4. "The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks him."

- Lamentations 3:25

5. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."

- Proverbs 3:5

6. "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!"

- Psalm 37:7

7. "The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."

- 2 Peter 3:9

8. “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”

- Romans 8:28

9. "But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."

- Romans 8:25

10. "I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry."

- Psalm 40:1

I hope these scriptures bring you peace and encouragement in your season of waiting. Remember, God's timing is perfect (“He may not come when you want it, but He’ll be there right on time”)! Trust in His plan and find solace in knowing He wants what's best for you.
